(Seoul=News1) Reporter Roh Seon-woong = The lawsuit between ADOR and girl group NewJeans members, who are in dispute over their exclusive contract, will begin this April.

According to legal sources on the 6th, the Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 41 (Presiding Judge Jung Hoe-il) has set the first hearing date for the exclusive contract validation lawsuit filed by ADOR against NewJeans members for April 3rd at 11:30 AM.

At a press conference last November, NewJeans members announced that their exclusive contract with ADOR had been terminated, stating they would reclaim the name 'NewJeans' through legal proceedings and pursue independent activities.

They also expressed their determination for independent activities, declaring they would never return to ADOR and even launching a contest for a new group name as a precautionary measure.

In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court in December last year, maintaining that their exclusive contract with NewJeans remains valid.

Additionally, ADOR filed for an injunction to preserve their agency status and prevent independent advertising contracts, aiming to block the members from pursuing independent activities and contracts.

At the time, ADOR stated, "It is regrettable that the members are attempting independent entertainment activities, such as soliciting a new group name, before receiving legal judgment, as this could constitute a serious breach of contract."

In response, NewJeans issued a separate statement announcing they had appointed law firm Sejong, the legal representative of former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, who produced NewJeans, as their legal representative to counter ADOR's injunction request.

Meanwhile, Min Hee-jin, the former ADOR CEO who created NewJeans, is also engaged in legal proceedings with HYBE, which owns ADOR as a subsidiary.

Following the first hearing of the shareholders' agreement termination confirmation lawsuit held last month on the 23rd, a second hearing is scheduled for April 17th.
